Bat Mitzvah Discovery Course
Your daughter’s Bat Mitzvah is approaching and the celebration of a Bat Mitzvah is one of the highlights and great milestone in the life of a Jewish woman. We must remember that the most important aspect is not the party but rather the impact and long term effects this experience will have on your daughter’s identity as a Jew. We have to make sure that the Bat Mitzvah is not viewed as a graduation from Judaism, but rather the bright beginning of a vibrant Jewish life.
It is for this reason that we have formed the Bat Mitzvah Discovery Course. The course has been tremendously successful for over 10 years here at Chabad of Whitefield.
No matter where your daughter plans to celebrate her Bat Mitzvah, this course is a great way to learn, enjoy and meet other Bat Mitzvah girls.

What: The Bat Mitzvah course shows why Bat Mitzvah is much more than just a party. We learn what Bat Mitzvah means in the modern world, we discuss hot topics relevant to the girls and we share common interests, goals, hopes and dreams. We also learn how to deal with life dilemmas and the drama that life throws our way, and have lots of fun whilst at it
Who: We welcome girls from all areas of North and South Manchester, and even have members from as far as Liverpool
When: There are approximately 20 meetings that run from October – June These take place on Sundays from 10.30am -12:00pm
How: Chit chat isn’t the only thing the girls will do. They will get to enjoy learning through arts and crafts, making & eating great food, drama, creative writing, community outreach and more
Our Aim: At the Bat Mitzvah Course, our aim is to get to know our Jewish self through a variety of fun and exciting ways
Special dates and highlights: * Family Friday night dinner * Weekend Shabbaton away * Mother & daughter Challa Bake * Kosher Cook up * Mikva Tour * Graduation Ceremony
Cost: £175 for the entire course (excluding Shabbaton trip)
